As I was doing a presentation (for 100 people) at Tenby Arts Festival 26th September, we decided to stay for a couple of days. It was very busy, of course, but booking early we were able to stay at Strathmore Hotel in Victoria Street, Tenby. A typical guest house, it was very comfortable, pleasant room and lovely new bathroom. Breakfast is excellent – plenty for anyone – all freshly cooked and very hot.
There are lots of stairs, either up to Reception on first landing, down to breakfast room in lower ground floor, or up to the rooms so you do need to be able to manage these. There is some noise from other guests, such as TV in their room, but not too late in the evening to be a great nuisance. However, it is in a good location, just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town and although most of the streets have spaces allocated for resident-only parking, there are generally other sections of the road where parking is unrestricted. Car parks are very expensive!
This was Arts Festival week so lots of things going on – including my talk on the exceptional collection of modern art donated to Wales by the Davies Sister – and a series of 10-minute Pint-sized Plays in local pubs, very funny. We will certainly put next September’s Festival in our diary and consider staying at the Strathmore again.
