Reasons for trip

If you are visiting Wiltshire this summer this garden is a must. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, with such a huge variety of plants, shrubs and very interesting old trees. There are several different footpaths to walk, some shorter than others. These footpaths are quite level and most people would find them good, so easy walking. There are ample seats sited all around the various paths. There are also lakes and again plenty of seating. We actually saw the fish swimming and jumping in one lake which the children really enjoyed. There is also a lovely grotto right by the lake side. The views all around are more than you would expect. We had our picnic by the lake. This is National Trust with a great café and their usual shop. There is also a lovely pub nearby which is set in an old courtyard with an outside seating area. There is also the house to explore but unfortunately we spent too long around the gardens that we didn’t have time to explore the house. That will be another day! Excellent day out for all ages.
