Visited Stirk house after seeing it advertised on a voucher site but found better deal including evening meal and breakfast on the hotel site itself . I would suggest if visiting to book a dinner deal as there is not a lot around unless you are going to be out all day .
The hotel is set in acres of grounds with woodland walks with a hide for bird watching and has a spa next to it ,hotel guests can use the pool , gym and I think the sauna.

The location is great as it is central for the Lakes ,the west coast and the Settle / Carlisle railway .

Both the breakfast and evening meals were good the only complaint being that even though booking in there was an overlong wait for the evening meal. I upgraded to a suite and was well worth it for the extra space and the fab bathroom with a massive shower and roll top bath which was nice for a treat.
