If you are in Halle and have an interest in History visiting this museum is a must. The museum houses the famous Nebra Sky Disc, one of the most important archaeological finds of the past century. The room devoted to the Nebra Sky Disc is dark and dramatic and the display is thought provoking. Apart from the Sky Disc the museum has plenty of other fascinating finds to see, all displayed beautifully in modern galleries.
The museum shop has a smallish café and sells the usual souvenirs, postcards, jewellery and replicas. There are plenty of books for sale in German but only a couple in English. The reason why I haven’t given a top rating of ‘5’ is because there aren’t enough labels in the galleries in English and it would have been helpful to have a guidebook in English. Photography isn’t allowed.
