We wanted to find an easy and cheap way to walk the St.Swithin’s Way from Winchester to Farnham, as it forms the start of the Pilgrims Way from Winchester to Canterbury.

Having got hold of a very informative set of maps from Hampshire County Council, and the relevant OS Maps 132 and 145, we researched where to stay along the way.
We found out that the Caravan Club campsite at Morn Hill is just outside Winchester, and on the bus route from Winchester to Farnham. This suited us perfectly as we have a VW Campervan. Every day we walked 8 or 9 Miles, then caught the bus back to the campsite. The next day we would catch the bus to our daybefore finishing point.
This worked out very well, so well that in fact we walked on to Guildford on the 5th day to start the Surrey leg of our journey.

Great easy walking, many coffee and pub stops on the way, loads of interesting things to see, and you can use your English bus pass too!
