This was an amazing trip. Before the event we wre kept well informed, given opportunites to change timings if the ship arrived at a different time to schedule and we could tailor the trip to our needs as well.
On the day, the tow minibuses were waiting for us when we docked in Reykjavik. The two guides introduced themselves and we set off in convoy for the tour of the south of the country.
We were taken to three amazing waterfalls, given time to get close to them and even go behind one. We had a visit to a glacier with enough time to get fairly close to it, but not enough to walk on it. We visited a black sand beach which was stunning for scenery and the breakers coming in from the sea were really wild. The basalt columns were reminiscent of Fingal’s Cave on Staffa too.
Following that we had a visit to a village with its church on the hill and time to take photos of the views below. The lunch break was at a shapping area in the village which had a cafe, a supermarket a woollen factory and other souvenir type outlets.
The scenery on the way was spectacular and the guides made sure we had lots of information about everything we saw too.
The price for the trip was really worth it. It should have been a nine hour trip and we actually had 10 hours in the end.
If you ever go to Iceland I can highly recommend this small family owned company.
