Took the family to Simpsons for dinner after a post Xmas theatre trip and it was as wonderful as ever. The setting is divine – all that lovely wood panel line and chandeliers and the live piano player a perfect backdrop to heavenly food and unobtrusive service.
All the starters were wonderful – I know because I tried everyone else’s too! Between us we sampled the Oysters, fish cake, pigeon breast and pigs cheeks. Then of course onto Simpson’s signature dish – aged Rib of beef – melt in your mouth and so flavoursome – carved off the joint at your table with all the requisite sides including the lightest of Yorkshire Puddings (even better that my husbands – and that is saying something). A perfect end to a lovely Sunday in London with the family.
