Reasons for trip

I’d walked up the glen from Rushen Abbey on a dull and drear day. The cafe was empty apart from one other visitor. Even so it had a reasonable selection of cakes with chocolate, coffee and walnut cake, scones, tea cakes and a selection of tray bakes. I decided it was too cold for ice cream and settled for a slice of coffee and walnut cake. It was a good size slice and was moist with a rich coffee flavour. At only £2.75 I felt this represented very good value.

They also serve soup, basic snacks, sandwiches and toasted sandwiches as well as burgers, hot dogs and chips. There is the usual childrens menu.

The lass serving was pleasant. Be warned the toilets are down a steep stair and very basic.
