We stayed in the five star Shelbourne Hotel for my husband's birthday. It's right in the middle of the shopping area, and overlooks St. Stephens Green. On arrival, our car was whisked away by the valet parking. We were offered home made cookies and lemonade at reception. In fact the friendly receptionist wrapped some cookies in a napkin and told us to have them in our room with a cup of tea. Although this is a 5 star hotel, there is nothing snobbish about it. Our room was lovely, very large, with steps down to the bathroom and wardrobe area. In the evening we were given umbrellas on our way out as it was raining. There is an interesting museum in the lobby showing the history of the hotel. All in all I enjoyed the luxury and will be going back for my birthday in July.
