If you like your sleep I would advise going to bed early. We were picked up at the hotel at 05.00 although they do start picking up earlier at some hotels. Still feeling the effects from the night before we set off in the mini-bus. It is a good 2 to 2 1/2 hours drive to Gansbaai as the mini bus picks up passengers as it goes along. If you are wide awake the scenery as you travel is quite breathe taking at times. we travelled through Hermanus as well which looks a very nice town. On arrival you can have some breakfast while waiting for the other divers to arrive. Walk to the boat, sail out into the bay and get ready for the main event. There was 7 of us as a group. After kitting up you wait your turn. WE were lucky as we actually got in the water about 4 times. The cage is tierd up along the boat and you lower yourserlves into the cage. A dry suit is provided and goggles. Just hold your breathe and pull yourself down to observe the sharks. During the run in and out to the sharks the crew tell you all about it. After getting back on the beach, we went up to the main building where they show a video of your trip out, with the option to buy. Snacks and refreshments are available. After everything is done you are taken back to your hotel. Every person on the mini bus was buzzing and kept going on about how enjoyable the day had been. All in all I would definately do it again as it is quite unbelievable how fast and majestic the sharks are when you look them in the eye. There are loads of companiesthat provide this service and oit is all down to the individual which one you use.
