If you’re in Selby, then the Abbey is well worth a look, but I wouldn’t recommend a long trip just to see it. We had a guided tour, but unfortunately I couldn’t hear most of the talk as there were lots of children running about, and a choir singing too. The Abbey is impressive as these places always are, but it is similar to many other Cathedrals, Minsters and suchlike.
There is a very small cafe and gift shop, with biscuits and fruitcake on offer. There are toilets too.
