The large wooden gates open onto a beautiful drive ending at a jaw dropping magnificent Tudor Period House. It is in the same road as Seckford Golf Club. It has leisure and beauty facilities and magnificent well kept grounds. The 2 AA Rosette restaurant is very comfortable and we were expecting nouveau cuisine but to our delight the portions are a normal size and absolutely delicious and not overexpensive. The choice of menu is delightful. Breakfast is great. A buffet table with cereals, ham, cheese, cakes etc. and a menu to order hot food from and very attentive staff. The hotel is sympathetically decorated and has beautiful, comfortable lounges and bars. One bar even had an open fire with squashy settee facing it. Our room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. Bottles of water were complimentary as were the tea/coffee making facilities. White linen, complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel public area was spotless. One complaint … our bedroom carpet was stained. We were looking for power points and discovered cobwebs behind the tv unit. Plastic cups in the bathroom. Hole in a hand towel. Mould in a ceiling corner in the bathroom. Ladybirds climbing up the walls in the morning! When we complained in the morning the manageress was horrified and gave us a voucher for a free night and showed us the rooms we could have. She was extremely apologetic.
