Reasons for trip

If you find yourself with time on your hands in North Yorkshire head for Malton, Scampston Hall to be precise. The Walled Garden here at Scampston is wonderful. Stunning quality displays. Traditional gardens mingle with topiary and hedge. The 18th century walls act as a unique backdrop and windbreak. Take as long as you wish and wander through the displays. Rest a while on the wooden chairs. Sit and enjoy the smells and sights of a wonderfully designed landscape. The Times describe the garden as "a gem". The restaurant is very good too. A wonderful day out.
