This is an attractive cafe outside the entrance to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Orders are placed at the counter and are brought to your table. Choose your table before placing your order as they will ask for the table number.
It was about 3.30 when we arrived and there was no queue at the counter, we quickly placed orders for tea and cakes. Many of the tables were still waiting to be cleared from lunch, and we had to clear plates away before sitting down.
It was a long wait (and I do mean long) until they arrived. Number Two grandson was getting increasingly hungry and went to ask (very politely for him) where his food was and was told it would only be a tick. It was a very long ‘tick’. The tray arrived without milk for the tea and no forks for the cakes. There were no paper serviettes either. We did rather blink at the paper cups with the tea. At £2.10 I don’t expect a cup of only just hot water with a tea bag for me to put in. The cakes however were very good and reasonably priced.
The cafe is part of the Safari Village and is free to enter. It serves a “breakfast menu”:https://yorkshirewildlifepark.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/YWP_591_Safari-Cafe-Menu-Breakfast.pdf until 11.30 and “hot meals”:https://yorkshirewildlifepark.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/YWP_591_A4-Summer-2016-Menu.pdf between 11.30-4.
