The Royal Terrace is very handy for the main 'Waverley' railway station, the town centre, and most main sights of Edinburgh. On a cobbled road, it is an amangam of a number of terraced properties and, as such, has a bit of a 'rabbit warren' feel about it when moving around inside. Having said that, our bedroom – named 'Tamhdu' after one of the Scotch whisky distillers (there are a number of rooms with similar-themed rooms) – was very well appointed with a queen-sized bed (I think – 3 pillows wide so wider that our king-size bed at home!).
Service was excellent, as was the food for all meals.
An easy walk down to the Scottish Parliament building and Holyrood House, and thence up Arthur's Seat before a wander into the old town area.
Would be happy to stay here again on a subsequent visit.
