If you're planning a visit be sure to leave time for a visit to this large free museum. It was recently reopened after extensive remodelling and is just the most fascinating place with exhibits covering art, ethnography, natural history, and most interestingly, a history of Devon explained through really interesting artifacts and information boards. Be sure not to miss the room where you can sit and watch a huge screen depicting how Devon has changed geologically through time. There's a cafe there too.
