We stayed for a long week-end at 5 Rowleaze Cottage on the Buscot estate, and you can also rent no 4 next door if you are a bigger party. No 5 is just for 2 and is a lovely cottage, in a remote quiet location. The views from all the windows are wonderful, from the bathroom and kitchen we could see across a stubble field with hares, pheasant and deer (mainly muntjac) most of the time! Particularly early in the morning and in the evening they are out feeding and exploring. Two muntjac came in the cottage garden by the snowdrops to eat the grass outside the kitchen window! Excellent walks from the cottage across the Buscot estate, one day we walked to Coleshill, Great Coxwell to visit the Church and tithe barn, and then back across Badbury Hill Fort which had snowdrops (and will have bluebells soon!). The other day we walked down to the River Thames and across to Kelscot and upriver to Buscot Weir and down river to Radcot in a big 10 mile loop. The upstairs bed is a large one, with warm bathroom next door, and we had 3 lovely open fires each night in the sitting room which was fun. A basic typical cottage but location fantastic if you like quiet, nature and walking. Quite a steep staircase so not for disabled I’m afraid.
