Reasons for trip

This new RHS Garden has only been open a few months. Clearly a huge amount of hard work has gone into transforming this bare site into a part formal and part more wild garden. The formal areas had some beautiful plants which will only look better as they become more established. The plain rectangular layout of the formal area was not very inspiring but hopefully this will be complemented by other areas of the site that have yet to be developed. Catering seemed to be an issue, as there were very lengthy queues in the cafeteria. Plenty of picnic areas so probably better to take your own food.
