Recently, my family gave me a ticket to fly to South Africa for my 70th birthday.
Although not issued as a Business Class ticket, we were assured I would be upgraded if there were seats available. I am a solo traveller and very used to doing my own thing.
Right from the start of my trip, the service from Qatar Airways was excellent, I was upgraded to a Business Class seat for each leg of the journey: Heathrow – Doha, Doha to Capetown, Johannesburg to Doha and then again home to London.
An experience of a lifetime! Not only was champagne served on arrival, I was offered a high tea, and a choice of meals and wines worthy of any top-class restaurant. Comfortable, private seating with plenty of storage and of course being able to stretch out and sleep was the icing on the top.
There is something about being a privileged Business Class passenger that makes usually tedious long-haul air travel very special and I would recommend anyone who can, to grab the opportunity if they are able to do so. I can also highly recommend Qatar Airways, their ground and flight crew were outstanding, the attention to detail amazing with personal service all the way!
