As far back as I can remember there has been a restaurant in this space in Wayfarers Shopping Arcade on Lord Street in Southport. The latest version is Pudding and Pie which opened in late 2009. During a day of shopping, this is often a spot I will search out for a relaxing lunch.

My most recent visit to Southport last year was no exception. On this occasion I had the prawn jacket potato with salad and coleslaw, a Luscombe lime crush and lemon drizzle cake – delicious as usual.

It is open from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. You can sit inside the restaurant or out on the patio in the arcade.

You can park at the Park and Ride for £1.50 and get the bus to Lord Street.
