This modern hotel is within easy walking distance of the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester. Our 6th floor room at the back of the hotel was quiet (as requested) and we could also see our car on the car park. The car park was free for guests (limited spaces). Parking for disabled guests was at ground level near the hotel entrance. We were prepared to pay for parking as the hotel website warns guests that they can't guarantee free parking will be available. Lifts were available from reception to all hotel levels.
Our room was refurbished, comfortable, immaculate, bright and welcoming. The king size bed was superb with a selection of firm and soft pillows to choose from. It was a warm evening and a fan had been left on in our room. A letter had been left by management explaining that a new air-cooling system was currently being installed. The colourful bathroom had dispensers providing gentle soap and hair & body gel and the lighting was good (not dim as is often the case). I was delighted to see tea and coffee was provided, I hadn't actually expected it. When I asked at reception for a top-up of refreshments I was very grateful for the envelope full of sachets and packets which were provided without hesitation. Reception was staffed for 24 hours/day and vending machines provided a quick and easy way to buy snacks and cold drinks.
Our spacious room had spotless carpets, modern art on the walls and a wall mounted flat screen TV. We could easy have stayed here comfortably for several nights.
We chose to pay for breakfast (£8.75 each) and the eat as much as you like from the continental and cooked breakfast selection was very good. Staff on Reception and at breakfast were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Even one of the cleaners was keen to help us when he could see we were a little lost. With the 12 noon check out time and ample time to pack following breakfast I can appreciate why the Premier Inn is an award winning chain and I couldn't fault a thing.
