Premier Inn have now settled on a successful formula, so in terms of decor if you've been to one you've seen them all. This one offers the same comfortable standard of accommodation at a reasonable price, backed by their good night guarantee. Our room was at the back of the hotel and although you could hear some road noise from the M20, it did not disturb a good nights rest. There isn't a lift here so anyone with mobility issues needs to ensure a ground floor booking. There are two rooms catering for disabled guests on the ground floor close to reception. Diane was typical of, if not even better than, most PI reception staff and greeted us with a sunny smile and a warm welcome. She was also very helpful in organising our meals with the adjacent Beefeater and giving us advice about walking along the river which is just a few yards away. As you arrive at the river, turn right for a look at Allington Lock just a two minute stroll away but after that it's not a particularly pretty walk. You can also pick up a river cruise here that takes you into Maidstone. The better walk is to turn left and a very pleasant 45 mins walk takes you into the outskirts of Maidstone. The large car park is shared with the Malta Inn (where meals are served) but as this is a popular place to come and sit by the river on a sunny day, sometimes it's hard to find a space. With its easy access to the M20 it's a great place to stay if you're exploring Kent and we'd stay here again if in the area.
