This is a small stone terraced property sleeping 6 people, opposite Pickering Station. The railway theme continues in the cottage with pictures and railway artefacts. There is restricted parking directly opposite, although the cottage has a free pass for the car park near Lidl.
Dogs are allowed. Linen, towels and central heating is included. Logs and coal are provided for the open fire, with a small charge for extra bags.
On the ground floor is a lounge with large TV and fire (other rooms have radiators) dining room and modern well equipt kitchen with washing machine and gas hob and oven. There is a small fridge and freezer.
Bedrooms are reached up a rather steep stair case and are best described as minimalistic and there is restricted hanging and storage space in some of the rooms The front room can get quite a bit of traffic noise, particularly if the window is open. Beds were comfortable.
The bathroom is compact with an over the bath shower. Although the bottom of the bath does have a non slip surface, it can still be slippy with wet feet and there is no non slip bath mat.
There is a small private yard behind the cottage with washing line and small area of artificial grass with table and chairs for outside eating.
The cottage is an excellent location with Co-op and Lidl a short walk away. The shops are just round the corner and Pickering is a thriving service centre for the area with a lot of local shops including two butchers, green grocer, fishmonger and excellent baker (Russell’s). There is also a very good chippie too!
If wanting self catering in Pickering, this is definitelky worth considering.
