My husband and I have a true love affair with Venice, we have visited many times, but never tire of her. On this visit we had planned to visit the Venice Bienannale art exhibition, and so decided to try and find an apartment which was located nearby. Piccola Perla, described as a little pearl, certainly scored highly on location, just minutes from the exhibitions. An extra bonus was that it had a tiny courtyard garden which was great for breakfasts. What was so lovely was the feeling of truly living as a Venetian! All the surrounding buildings were owned by locals, everyone so friendly, despite not being able to speak any English. The property was tiny, as was typical of all the local apartments, it had a kitchenette/ lounge and a bedroom with king size bed. The shower room was described as marble, but was very old, and really needed replacing. It had been advertised as great for honeymoons/ anniversaries, which I agree, it was. The property was equipped for self catering, we tended to eat out in the evenings though. We had a wonderful stay and managed to do and see so much during our week there. The beams, the quaint windows, the gorgeous courtyard, all remain fondly in our thoughts.
