Attended to see Katy Perry in concert before going on holiday, I made a conscious decision years ago to go and see artists I like and not to delay as a number popped their clogs before I got to see them. Anyway I digress. The arena is situated over the top of Manchester Victoria station so it is very handy for the trains, right up to the doors. We parked after driving in however as we didn't want to leave the concert early to get the last train home. The best car parking we could find is the old Boddingtons brewery opposite the arena, £3 for 24 hours and right outside, by far the best but it is busy when everyone leaves. There is disabled access into the arena and it is well marshalled however, there are no handrails on the steps and these are quite steep, especially when it is busy as it inevitably is. The food and drink is expensive and the toilets leave something to be desired, there were a number of drunken people inside too which was not a good thing, the marshals left them to it which caused problems nearby. All in all Katy was excellent, the venue unfortunately was decidedly average and expensive, I didn't like the handling fees of 16% put on the ticket price either.
