Perge is easy to reach from Antalya & the surrounding resorts like Lara beach. Plenty to see & the trip is much enhanced by having a good guide to explain what you are seeing. The towers are unusual & the baths are impressive, but the whole site full of interest. Perge is famous by the fact that when Saint Paul started his journeys, he visited Perge in 46 A.D. I don't think its as good as Ephasus but its certainly less crowded & you can see the whole thing for one entance fee. The guides seem to concentrate on the main part of the ruins featuring the towers, gate, baths etc. but don't take people to the stadium. I went to explore this on my own, hence having the stadium to myself! You could also see the openings at ground level where they let the lions in …scary!!!! Take plenty of water & cover up or apply plenty of sunscreen. There is little shade & it gets very hot even in September. Visit as early in the day as you can arrange.
