These free to visit gardens opened relatively recently (April 2011) and are still very much a work in progress. They are immaculately kept and the various plants are labelled clearly. The visitors centre has a model showing how the gardens will look when enough money has been raised and the work completed. There is also a small shop with reasonably priced and well chosen items.
Most of the completed gardens are adjacent to the car park although there is also a raised vegetable garden area at the side of the visitors centre. The gardens and visitors centre are apparently used for weddings and conferences and there is a dining area for these in the centre. Hopefully this and other fundraising events will soon raise enough money for more of the gardens to be completed.
We were slightly disappointed with this visit as we had expected that there would be more to see but we shall definitely be going back in a few years time to see how it has progressed.
