Only a small restaurant with the option to sit at tables outside or inside, this is very popular with locals, especially on their way home from work or on their way out for the evening.
It is a Fresh Pasta Bar, so an interesting way to choose your food. The counter bar has lots of different plain pastas to choose from – small, medium or large portions – then pick the sauces to go with it. What a great idea! We had a sea-food mix with super fresh prawns on the top, and a rich tomato-based meaty sauce swirled in long, silky spaghetti, and a crisp, fresh green salad between us.
It doesn’t always look very much when it arrives, but we didn’t see anyone else there actually eating the large portion. Add a cool, Green Label white wine and cosy atmosphere, an early -evening crowd queueing for a table, and we were very happy!
If you are visiting the magnificent Teatro Manolo nearby, and only have a short time to spend, the Taproom is a small bar opposite the theatre serving just drinks until 7.00pm – no food. It isn’t cheap for drinks, but a very nice Prosecco was €5 and a small cisk €3.50, so a good option while waiting for the theatre to open. Lots of interesting old photographs are on display, but basically everyone there between 6.00-7.00pm was just enjoying a quick drink before the performance.
