On a very cold, snowy day in the mountains, what more could you ask for? Fab food and a large home-made gin & tonic! And you can visit their distillery as well!

The restaurant is situated right on Banff Avenue in the heart of the town, and is extremely popular! We got there for lunch at around 2.30pm and were lucky to find a table. Being gin lovers, we of course had to sample their flagship gin – delicious! It must have been the hint of Canadian spruce that set it apart for others we’d tasted. Of course we had to buy a bottle to take away with us….. If you’re not a gin person, they also distill their own vodka, which comes in a range of flavours, and for whisky drinkers, even a maple rye!

For lunch, we again had to try their speciality of something wood-fired, spit-roasted, and smokey savoury, so both ordered the rotisserie chicken and chips, and thoroughly enjoyed it. If we’d had the chance, we would’ve gone there again and maybe gone for the same meal!

As their distillery is on the premises, there are free tours and explanations of how they produce their spirits, and that is also well worth doing. All-in-all, this place is a rare find and I can thoroughly recommend it should you ever find yourself in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
