I took my aunt to see OVO by Cirque du Soleil this weekend for her birthday and it was amazing. I have seen a Cirque du Soleil performance a few years ago (“Dralion”:http://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/153308-review-dralion) but this was my aunt’s first time. She thoroughly enjoyed it and it brought a tear to her eye a few times. The show reminded her of shows she and my mother used to be in when they were in their teens.
The theme of this show is insects. The costumes are very colourful and imaginative. A running story through the show is two bugs who are courting. The most incredible act to me was the duo aerialists, but all the acts were very good. Make sure you get a seat that is not too high up as we had some difficulty seeing the trampoline artists when they were climbing the wall at the back of the stage as some of the lighting equipment was in the way.
I missed taking photos of many of the acts because I was so enthralled in the show.
Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian company based in Montreal but they have a number of different shows touring around the world. Check out the website for one near you or where you will be traveling: http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/shows.aspx
OVO will be appearing in London at the Royal Albert Hall from January 7 to February 11, 2018.
