Overwater Hall lies a few miles north of Keswick near Overwater which is the northernmost body of water in the Lake District. It is tucked away in its own grounds which provide some short walks as well as possibilities for sitting out in warmer weather.
While it is well situated to explore the northern and western lakes or even the western end of Hadrian's Wall, it is also an ideal place for complete R&R. There is quiet and unobstrusive service provided by the owners and their staff whether formally in the dining room or more informally in the suitting room or ones bedroom. One need hardly say that the food is beautiful and really well presented.
Red squirrels play in the grounds and we were fortunate enough to see one ast breakfast through the windows and another one when we returned from a walk.
The bedrooms look out over the peaceful grounfs although, inevitably, some have better views than others. All are well equipped including TV with DVD playing facility a small collection was available, but we had taken our own]. There is also a downstairs bedroom available.
Due to its location mobile phones and iwifi are not available. This proved for us a wonderful opportuntiy for total escape.
