Reasons for trip

On the Brook’ is a new venture run by Sophie and Pat Blanpain-Forder. Located just seven minutes walk from the centre of the small Somerset town of Burton it serves light meals, drinks and snacks with a French twist. It has an idyllic location and the added bonus of red kites which frequently take to the thermals providing a spectacular show. Family friendly, it is popular with walkers and locals. A clean and fresh look makes this a great place to stop for lunch or enjoy one of their special events which are held on regular basis. The terrace provides magnificent views over the countryside and aso the chance to experience their special brook.. Using their own freshly grown produce the menu is designed as a sharing experience. They can cater for larger groups and are able to provide bed and breakfast on site. Their own freshly produced apple juice is quite amazing.

A secret retreat it can be found just off the B 3081 a couple of minutes outside Bruton. Popular with children and dogs there is plenty of parking.

A haven of delight it is just waiting to be discovered.
