My first coach tour for many years and I will be going again. The coach itself was fine although a breakdown meant we had to ‘borrow’ a coach but the Hemmings driver was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was beautiful. Perched high over the bay and with panoramic views from my large comfortable room: I couldn’t have asked for better. The food served was good and plentiful and the entertainment varied and enjoyable. This was a Turkey and Tinsel break so there was a set theme throughout although more decorations would have aided this. Shanklin itself is a lovely little town and the Isle of Wight has lots to offer – a visit to Allum Bay to see the Needles and to wonder at the glass making is a must. The people I met made the holiday really enjoyable however and as many of them are ‘regulars’ on these coach tours I hope to see at least some of them again. Maybe back in Shanklin? I wonder what it is like in summer?
