During our stay in Calgary, our son and daughter-in-law wanted to take us to the best (in their opinion) restaurant to try Alberta steak! Being cattle country, it’s a ‘must-do’ for any visit to Calgary!
Notable is one of those restaurants where you can order almost any kind of meat and witness it being cooked to your liking. With Alberta Prime rib on the menu, I couldn’t resist, although I genuinely thought the size of the steak was enough for two people! It was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed it – all of it! – immensely. Like in the USA, portion sizes in Canada are far bigger than in the UK. The waitress was almost laughing when she asked if we had room for dessert!
There are other dishes if people don’t want steak. My wife, who prefers fish, had an Icelandic cod dish which she also enjoyed very much. The price was very much what you’d expect from a top-class restaurant, not cheap, but certainly not outrageously expensive. All-in-all, it was an unforgettable dinner and a highlight of our trip.
