A new attraction has just opened in the North East to challenge the Angel of the North for the top of the bill. Northumberlandia – The Lady of the North It has been made of 1.5 million tons of rocks, clay and soil is a quarter of a mile long and it makes a 46 acre park, with 4 miles of footpaths around the Lady and the lakes. Entry is FREE, and a free carpark. I use an Electric Mobility Scooter to ride about and I was able to access most of the site and see the marvellous views one gets from the various parts of the Ladies reclining body. It is managed by The Land Trust who are experts in caring for such places – they say it will encourage more birds. One thing I have promised myself is to take a helicopter flight and view her from the air. It is situated just at the outskirts of Cramlington. If you go to www.northumberlandia.com you will find how to get there and the opening hours.
