First stop the National Trust car park at Blakeney. Boots on and head out towards the sea across the marshland following the coastal path. Natural beauty of the big skies is serenaded by the abundant bird life in every direction. A 4 mile walk can take hours with the distraction of nature. A special treat is the migrating pink footed geese with their arrow formations and noisy gaggling. Dog walkers everywhere with polite ‘ Good Mornings’. The path splits – sea or Cley Windmill. Windmill wins as it sits up across the swathes of reeds in the distance. A magnificent building but one which you now sleep in rather than work in. The wind is bracing as the direction changes but soon the protection of the woodland allows a detour to Wiveton Farm and a splendid cafe where a hot drink refuels before continuing back to Blakeney. Nature at its best, Norfolk at its best, Life at its best. As they say in these parts- Slow You Down!
