On the busy shopping street off the front in Mumbles at the top end uphill is Cafe 93. It was a good place for us to stop to rest our weary feet, keep out of the rain (we went out from our seafrint holiday accomodation on the Gower to escape the day of poor weather sitting in our dark stone cottage) to do some shopping and have a bite to eat (any excuse).
The place was busy so we went upstairs (avoiding the rickety table for two near the fireplace). Most seats had a very good view of Oystermouth castle.
We ordered downstairs from a good, varied and appetising lunch menu. We had the croissants – I had one with salmon and cream cheese and hubby had serrano ham and cream cheese cheese, at £3.65 each. We also ordered a pot of tea and water. We were warned it may take up to 20 minutes due to a busy time and that the croissants had to be toasted first. We were just grateful we could sit down and have our tea first so we were fine with that. The food was very tasty. The tea was so-so but it was hot and wet and much needed. Its a good place to stop off aand very reasonably priced for the area.
