This Aircraft Museum is situated in the same country lane as the County Showground and just off the A1 near Newark-on-Trent. A large number of the planes are in 2 large hangers and there is also an exhibition area, small shop/reception building and a very reasonably priced café (good cheese toasties). Other aeroplanes are outside, including one which is currently being restored. There is a very wide range of aircraft – from one used in the film “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines” to relatively modern rescue helicopters.
It is all laid out very well with information about the life and restoration of the various aircraft. We had planned to spend about an hour there and finally left after nearly 3 hours. Everyone was very helpful and willing to tell us about what they were doing at the museum and to answer our questions.
