My wife and I spent the day at the Botanic Gardens which has recently seen some major refurbishment. The restoration of the Palm House and the Alpine House has allowed the visitor to escape the rain showers while surrounded by tropical paradise or mountain meadows! Palms, Hibiscus, Vireya Rhododendron and the Gymnosperms. When the sun shines, the borders are bursting into life with flowers and grasses, while the scent within the rose garden is only heavenly. Not a bad way to spend a day.
