We didn't really have any idea of what would be awaiting us except that the owner's website showed some lovely photographs of the inside of this cottage. We had planned a week in the Peak District and this cottage fitted the bill. When we arrived we were amazed at how much was provided. There was milk and all manner of condiments in the fridge ie tomato and brown sauce. There were tea bags, sugar and coffee. There were soap tabs for if we used the washing machine. We were told that we only needed to bring ourselves and that is exactly how it was. There was a whole cupboard of maps and walks as well as a comprehensive folder of information about the area including the local eating places and their special offers which enabled us to plan our week and eat out at reasonably priced pubs and combine this with eating in at this wonderfully cosy cottage. As we were visiting in October we spent most evenings inside. The cottage was so cosy with good lighting for reading, using a laptop or watching television. We would heartily recommend this accommodation for anyone planning a walking holiday in the Peak District. Hathersage is an ideal location, close to Castleton and other well known beautiful sites and viewpoints in this wonderful part of the UK.
