It's difficult to choose the best thing about this hotel – the amazing gardens, 3 lovely pools, the friendly and hardworking staff and the wonderful choice and quality of the food in Montana Pine all go to make the hotel a truly memorable holiday. We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks spent at this therer and I can honestly say it is the best short haul hotel we've ever been to. Every aspect of the service provided was first class and everyone, from cleaner to gardener, waiters and barstaff up to the general manager was so welcoming and helpful. In the 2 weeks we were there we didn't see a single piece of litter and even the leaves that blew off the trees were swept up and tidied away! The choice of food every day was amazing and I would defy anyone, however fussy, not to like at least one of the many choices both at breakfast and dinner. The only downside is that everything is so tempting that you end up eating too much! The 3 pools are all lovely – our favourite was the Dolphin pool – and again, spotlessly clean and well cared for. Although we did do a few trips (head down to Hisaranu, the nearest local town to book them rather than through the rep, they are so much cheaper. We booked through Seaside travel which was a very professional set up) the complex was just so nice that we tended to stay by the pool most days. There are always taxis waiting at the front gate of the complex if you want to go places and there is a board with the costs too (which were fairly reasonable) and the local buses were easy enough to catch – you just flagged one down as it passed you, you didn`t need to be at a bus stop. And you pay as you get off rather than when you board the bus. We tended to use the taxis as the long hike up the steep and winding road to the hotel is a killer in the heat! Speaking of which, as is clearly described in the hotel blurb, it is built on the side of a mountain so if, like us, your room is right at the back, you will have a lot of uphill walking to do which can be challenging in 40 degs! (I was overtaken by a sprightly tortoise one day – seriously!) The rooms themselves were good – comfortable beds and just about adequate hanging space. The only slight critisism is that there wasnt quite enough space to put things out. I`m sure that most women, like me, take lotions and potions, makeup and hair stuff and it was difficult finding somewhere to put it out anywhere. The bathroom was great with a big powerful shower and loads of hot water. Bath and hand towels were changed everyday and the pool towels about every 2 days or so. We were lucky enough to be at Montana Pine when they celebrated their 20th anniversary. They threw a party for staff and guests – free cocktail and champagne then lunch by the pool. Most nights there was entertainment and the highlight for us was the Turkish folk dancers – totally amazing and the sort of thing I would have payed good money to watch (all free to guests of course). As I work in the Education sector I have to take school holidays and although there were some families there I would say it was mainly couples which was just what we had hoped for. All in all we feel it was great value for money and would definitely recommend Montana Pine for anyone thinking of holidaying in Turkey.
