We were escorted to the terrace by a very pleasant young ‘greeter’. Arguably – the best thing about this restaurant in the ‘MareMagnum’ shopping complex overlooking the main harbour area, is the view from those terrace tables. But you only know you’ve paid extra for that when you get the bill. The pasta dish from the children’s menu, at 12Euro80 would have been fine if the serving was for a 5-year-old and the pasta sauce was more than a colouring .. it wasn’t anywhere near enough for our 12-year-old (who supplemented his lunch with rice from M’s paella). The food quality was very good overall, however, but service was poor – we had to ask for the desert included in the children’s menu long after the table was cleared– and the (untouched) basket of 3 breads was charged at 5.85 (3 x 1.95) and then the ‘terrace’ charge of +10% added to the total bill.
When you get otherwise good (though pricey) food in a nice setting, it’s just disappointing to find rip-off extras being added to the bill?
With tapas costing 6E90-25Euro; starters 8E90-13E50; pasta/paella 13E90-27E50; mains 18E90-23E50; and deserts 6-6E90 it wouldn’t be difficult to run up a sizeable bill. I’ve settled for suggesting the price of a 3-course as 35Euro though you could spend much more – especially when you add the 10% (to everything you’ve had on the table, food and wine) for the terrace seating!
