My first and probably the only, break this year. My friend and I wanted to go away for a few days for my birthday, which we do every year. Having been remaining at home now for months we decided to book a cottage in the Peak District (only about an hour from where we live), so we wouldn’t have to travel far, could relax and stay in if the weather was bad, and most importantly, stay safe out of the way of crowds.
We couldn’t have made a better choice than Mill Farm Cottages, part of Barlow Country Par near Dronfield. The staff there were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There were 7 fishing lakes and plenty of walking around this massive estate. The cottages were spotless, cosy and there was everything we needed on hand.
Nearby were plenty of places to visit – Bakewell, Grindleford, Eyam, Chatsworth, to name but a few. Luckily the weather was fantastic so we were so lucky, and I had a fabulous birthday. We will definitely return.
