This is a nice hotel situated a mere few steps away from one of Amiens best attractions, the Notre Dame Cathedral.
The double room I stayed in (221) was very spacious with a comfy king-size bed and quality linens. The rooms have a almost Scandinavian decor to them, using light woods and simple decorations. It was quite well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, TV, mini safe, complimentary Wi-Fi (seemed quite a good speed) & a fridge. Complimentary water was left in the fridge each day a 50cl bottle of Evian, but it would be nice to see the plastic bottle replaced with a reusable flask to cut down on single use plastic waste.
There was a compact bathroom (accessible by frosted glass saloon style doors off of the bedroom) with a shower over the bath. Soap was provided as was a shower gel/shampoo dispenser. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. The WC was in a smaller separate room, a massive bonus if two of you are sharing.
Breakfast is typically French with a decent selection of pastries, cold meats, cheeses, breads, cereals etc. The only hot selection is scrambled egg, streaky bacon, and sausages. It’s a self-service buffet and is perfectly adequate to get you started on your day. All very nice but they can be a bit slow clearing the tables at busy times.
I found the staff at reception very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is in a great position to access most of Amiens attractions, shops and restaurants and I would have no hesitation staying here again.
I stayed here as part of a trip with “Backwaters”:http://www.backwaters.tours
