We spent 4 nights at the Maidens Hotel. Of the 10 hotels we stayed in during our month long trip to Rajasthan this was equal 1st. We were offered a choice of rooms. We choose a fourth floor room, which included a large bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and a walk in wardrobe area. However it was the attentive staff that really made the difference. They were brilliant. When they realised I had mobility issues they even put a chair in the shower for me. Within hours all the staff know your name, and you really feel at home. Cosy and very personal.

Lovely old colonial style building. It is obviously a struggle to maintain the fabric of the building, but on the whole they are winning. I had been told that Edward Lutyens stayed there when designing New Delhi, but unfortunately little is made of this fact. Lovely gardens and good pool area. Two good restaurants. Good buffet choice for breakfast, and the Curzon Room restaurant is excellent. Not particularly expensive and has some unusual menu options.

Although the hotel complex also accommodates conferences and corporate events, these are kept completely separate from the hotel, and do not impinge on either the accommodation or restaurant areas. In other hotels we were often squeezed out by big corporate events, wedding etc.

Thank you to the entire Maiden’s staff. Everything was perfect.
