In County Hall on the South Bank is The Film Museum. I have passed it many times but finally decided to go inside. What a gem, but first the price £13.50 per adult but if you are prepared to moan a little a leaflet is produced from behind the counter. Add your email to the leaflet and it is £5.00 cheaper! plus £2 off for concessions and you are paying £6.00 much better. Inside Luke Skywalker fights the storm troopers in the Star Wars room and the Simpsons sit watching TV. The original Dr Who telephone box fights for space with Darleks and scripts from Pink Panther sit next to photos of the greats. The Alien from the film protects her eggs in a darkend corner ready to frighten the tourists. Harry Potter props including the broomsticks lie protected by glass cases and the borrowers cotton reels and playthings line one hallway. A different room has costumes from many films including Mrs Brown and Zorro. Thunderbird 4 brings back memories and a Statue of Liberty looks battered and worn, a survivor of many films. In a different room are props from the `mummies` films, this is quite a frightening room so if you are with children try to avoid it. The sculls and coffins will give them nightmares. It is a really interesting Museum and is surprising large. I really enjoyed wandering around it.
