We had lunch at the “Lindisfarne Hotel”:https://www.lindisfarne.org.uk/lindisfarne/ on a recent visit to Lindisfarne Island. Though many people were dining alfresco, we had just been for a nature walk around the island in the stiff breeze and sunshine and were looking for some respite. We ate in the dining room and the server was a real card, cracking jokes all the time. We were the only ones in the dining room most of the time so we had his full attention. While we were waiting for our food we had a look at all the artwork on the walls that was for sale. Most of it was local landscapes. If we had not all bought prints the day before at “Bamburgh Castle”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/175593-review-bamburgh-castle, we might have been tempted.
We all had the home made lentil soup with French bread and hot drinks; just the things to warm us up after our morning walk. It was delicious and only came to just over £25 for the four of us. He was also very funny and honest about what else to see – “the museum is rubbish but the winery is good.” I wonder if he has a deal going with the winery as we did spend a bit of time and money there!
