The Chester Ladies Choir has 50 members and 40 of us, plus partners went on tour to Bath and Midsomer Norton this May Bank Holiday. We stayed en masse at the Lansdowne Grove which is a Shearings hotel, geared to coach tour groups. The location is at the top of a very steep hill with great views over Bath. Our room was small but adequate, although a bit tired and in need of some TLC. Shower was hot and good water pressure. There was so much noise from creaking floorboards above that I was woken several times in the early hours. The room was also very hot despite the open window. Food was average, but what we expected as we were in a large group. Service was excellent and the staff were smiley and accommodating. Free wifi which is always a bonus. Bath is a great place for sightseeing and we did the usual tourist trail, stopping for tea and cakes in some fab little independents. Our concert with the Mendip Male Voice Choir was a great success and we will no doubt return!
