I used to live near this restaurant and would go there from time to time – now live elsewhere but was back for Christmas and decided to go there and see if it was good as it used to be. It wasn’t. It was better! This is not your usual ‘curry house’ – it is of a different standard altogether. But if you like imaginative, superbly cooked, carefully spiced to enhance not mask the quality of ingredients – you should try this! The service is personal and excellent and the surroundings comfortable. My mother in law had never been in an Indian restaurant and ‘doesn’t like curry’ or ‘hot’ dishes – she also has a small appetite as do many people in their later years. Not a problem. She had two starters and they made a very mild version of the dishes she chose – and she loved it! I don’t think the menu is on the Hotel website just now but if you contact them they will email you a sample one.
