My husband and I had wonderful stay at the Queens Mead hotel. Meals were ample and tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I use a mobility scooter at home but was unable to take mine with me . I was able to hire a mobility scooter from Shanklin Coastal Mobility Scooters Ltd, and they were equally helpful, picking up the scooter after use. They were also very reasonable on price. I managed to explore Shanklin as never before thanks to all. Especially my husband who described himself as my Sherpa, as I went up and down on my super scooter!
Shanklin is quite steep and there is a lift to the beach, but as yet I have never seen it in working order! although I have been to the Isle of Wight three times. My mother has also been and she has also never seen the lift in working order.
The Queens Mead have outside facilities for the charging of the scooter.
The people of the Isle of wight are warm and welcoming.
